Courage in motherhood

Courage spells differently when you are a

mother so much more when you are a

single parent. For me, courage is believing

that there is a high power who will be my

help and guide. In Hebrew, it’s “omitzlev,”

meaning a courageous heart that jumps

into the unknown. That is what it takes for me!

On this trip, I felt courageous and so did my girls. The seasons of embracing change and not being a complete family have been a new normal for us. I witnessed on this trip how God embraces our frailties, which makes us even stronger as a family. Our individuality and differences created spaces in our hearts to love each other more and to value one another.

Motherhood inspired me more when I see my girls generation. Seeing them engaged in the summit with the other missionary children encourages my heart. We (parents) should invest more in our children. They are the future leaders of their generation!

Spring is definitely coming to our family. Lala is in her teen years, while Khaikhai is enjoying being a preteen. Both are gaining skills, getting more involved  and becoming more aware of the world around them. These two have been my source of strength. They have shown me that there is more to grief.

This coming season, we want to “amaz alef,”  a Hebrew word meaning “to step out.”. Come and join us as we get our hearts ready with courage.

“Wait for the Lord be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

~Psalm 27:14 ESV~
