I am 47!
47!
This year was extra special!
Celebrating birthdays is big in our family! Growing up, my parents usually do something on my birthday. I have my birthday cake, food to feast on, and several friends singing me a birthday song.
This year, my 47th birthday was extra special. I had celebrations with family, close friends, and teammates, and birthday greetings all around the world. What more can I ask for?
The important gift was the word I got this year from Isaiah 41:15.
“See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff.” -Isaiah 41:15 ESV
Similar to how a grain is torn up beneath a threshing sledge as it is twisted and spun, feeling the pain of separation. When a new season of life begins, we may feel as though we are caught up in its twists and turns and are unsure of how long it will last. Isaiah 28 reminds us “that one does not go on threshing it forever.” The farmer knew how much time the grain sets into the threshing sledge. The Father knows when we are ready to spread our wings and fly to what He called us to do. I am in that season where His preparation for me might cause me some pain, but I am secure knowing that He knows the time.
….Grain must be ground to make bread; so one does not go on threshing it forever…- Isaiah 28:28
