Life Lately

Ministry Update

Cebu House of Prayer (CHOP), will be moving to a new location in the mountains of Pardo, Cebu. Yes, the Lord opened a door for us to live rent free for 50 years and beyond. Teen Challenge ministry, a drug rehabilitation treatment center, has welcomed us into a partnership in the work of the kingdom. We have amazing opportunities ahead of us and we couldn’t wait to see how God will unfold it right before our eyes.

Our renovation is still a long way off, but, I saw in my own eyes how God is providing for us weekly.

For the past two months, God has moved to our fundraising events every week. We still need 1.3 million pesos($23,000) to finish some rooms for phase 1 and 7 million pesos ($128,000) to finish phase 2 & 3. We continue to trust the Father for this building project.

So, pray for us the next two weeks as we move to our new location. The room is still not done but, we have faith that we will see this accomplished in our generation. Pray for all of us as we transition and merge together with Teen Challenge.

Exodus 14:14 ESV

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”.”

Opportunities & open hearts

I have been actively connecting with my high school batchmates. Every year, we conduct outreach to different Catholic communities. This year, we went to the home for the old grandpa’s and grandma’s. I have been praying for a long time for opportunities to share and be a light and this time has been different. Most of them have been open and have been asking me questions about my faith and life. I oftentimes share and lately they have been reconnecting with me. I am taking this as a “kairos moment,”  the right time for my batchmates to know Jesus. Do pray for this moment that I will be more discerning and sensitive about when to share. I never experienced such openness and rawness

Parenting Lessons

I learned some timeless lessons from my inlaws who came to see us for a short time. It was like an arrow piercing my heart. It was a wake up call to be more consistent and intentional about spending quality time with my girls- to be present, to deeply listen.

As a parent, it is not an easy road for me. God designed parenting for us to grow up and become more like Jesus. I am a work in progress, growing in character, virtue and faith.

Life Coach for Discipleship (LCD) Seminar

I finished my six(6)weeks introduction to Life coaching skills for Discipleship last month. It was so enriching and inspiring. It didn’t only help me gain awareness of the valuable  impact that life coaching will have on discipleship but, it also helped me process the transitions I am going through right now. I am praying to do the three(3)month course next January 2025 to equip myself and help my teammates  and people around me tap into their deep, internal motivation to help them take action in their lives..

Unexpected disruptions

There have been moments when transitions have been uncomfortable and unwelcoming due to unexpected disruptions. I have learned to look at it as an opportunity for growth and a time of invitation to God’s presence

I am reminded of the Israelites in Exodus 14 and how terrified, fearful and confused they were. When Moses was aware of and awakened to the reality of God’s presence, he began to raise and stretch his staff. The Lord divided and showed His glory to the Israelites and Egyptians.

THANK  YOU

Lastly, thank you all, family for the love and support!

You are part of this journey!
