Slow down & listen
Overwhelmed! This was my state a few weeks ago. Now I am encouraged, after the Oasis retreat, to be more intentional with rest.
Our Saturday Shabbat, which we have been doing for two (2) months now, is taking me on a personal journey of deeper rest for the soul. This deeper tiredness, which I am talking about, is brought on by “mental fatigue.”.
Jesus is inviting me to “come to me” as I create my own space at home and in my heart.
He wanted me to have a deeper communion. To slow down, listen and hear His heart.
As I have been reflecting on Psalm 23 verse by verse, it is so clear to me how deeply David longs for this communion with God. He personally experienced that it is only in God alone that we can find rest.
Jesus invitation lifts us up! It will not give us mental fatigue. His presence is rest! Rest, for my soul is now communing deeply with Jesus.
Preparing my soul care essentials to inspire me more for my time with Jesus has been beneficial. When I lit the candle, it reminded me that Sabbath has begun and that I have entered into a 24-hour rest. A time to fellowship with Jesus and my girls.
John 8:12, “He is the light of the world.”.
What does your soul enjoy? What is refreshing for you?
How much space will it take you to rest?
True rest is friendship with Jesus, my beloved. Rest in Him empowers us to think and work our best.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Psalm 23:1 NIV
